God’s Creative Wisdom
I have been wondering why about these:
Why did God cause the man (Adam ) to fall into a “deep” sleep before extracting one of his ribs to create the woman? I think God is very wise, He doesn’t want the man to take the glory or pride himself on taking any part in the creation of the woman. Therefore, a man can’t regard the woman as his property because he paid the bride price.
Why is it from the rib, one of the most fragile bones in the body that God created the woman? This is perhaps to show that the woman is fragile and needs to be handled with care by the man. Are women fragile? Men too are.
I am still wondering, why is it from the side bone( the rib) instead of any bones from the man’s hands or feet? I am thinking it may be because God wants the woman to walk by the side of the man and vice versa and not to be beaten with the man’s hands or trampled on his feet.
What is even more intriguing is that God took the rib which encloses the most delicate organ of the body– the heart. I think this is because God wants the woman to protect the man. Do women protect their men? It should be vice versa.
Finally, why didn’t God fashion the woman from the soil of earth but prefer the rib of the man? I think God wants to show that man and woman are one flesh and complementary.
Just thinking aloud. 🤔
