A Birthday Tradition Built on Giving
Every year on my birthday, October 7, I gather children and underprivileged members of my community in Nigeria to share food, gifts, love, and joy.
This tradition began before I came to the United States, and for nine years we have continued it. What started as a simple gathering has grown significantly, bringing together more children and adults each year.
To me, a birthday is not only about celebrating another year of life. It is an opportunity to thank God by extending love and kindness to others, especially children who may have very little.
I believe our lives become truly meaningful when we touch the lives of
others and create memories that can remain in their hearts for a lifetime.
